GarageLog (the “Service”) respects your privacy and takes the utmost care to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how the Service collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
When you log a fill-up in the iPhone app, we use your current location to suggest nearby station names. We do not store your current location itself. If you pick one of the suggested stations, we save that station's location (latitude, longitude, and city name) with the fuel record. If you do not allow location access, no location is collected. We do not track your movements. The web version does not collect location information.
Photos you upload may show names and addresses printed on documents, license plates, and similar details.
For vehicle photos, photos for public pages, and images attached to maintenance or modification records, we remove embedded metadata such as the place the photo was taken when you upload them. Images attached to maintenance or modification records on the web version before the October 2026 change may still contain that metadata.
On the web version, the original of an image saved as evidence is stored as the original file, in a location only you can access. Public pages show only images that have gone through the masking step.
The Service does not provide your personal information to third parties except in the following cases:
Public pages show the vehicle name, model code, year, and mileage, the maintenance and modification records you chose to publish, and the photos you published (sale pages also show the inspection expiry date). They do not show your email address, name, address, registration number, chassis number, or the location saved with fuel records. Anything you write in a record's text or notes, and anything visible in your photos, is shown as is.
User data is stored on Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage) operated by Google. Data is encrypted and managed under appropriate security measures.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may be limited.
The Service may introduce third-party services such as vehicle inspection, auto insurance, and car buying services. These introductions may contain advertising (affiliate) links, and the Service may receive a referral fee when you sign up through them. Advertising links are labeled as such.
When you follow an advertising link, the Service records only aggregate click counts per offer. We do not send any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or vehicle details) to the destination provider.
Handling of personal information on the destination site is governed by that provider's own privacy policy. The Service is not responsible for the content of third-party services.

When you delete your account, your personal information and all data are permanently deleted. However, data that is required to be retained by law, or anonymized statistical data, may be kept.
The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
The Service may revise this Privacy Policy as necessary. If there are material changes, we will notify you within the Service.
