1. Introduction

GarageLog (the “Service”) respects your privacy and takes the utmost care to protect your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how the Service collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account information

  • Email address (when registering with an email address and password)
  • Google account information (email address, name, profile image)
  • Apple Account information (email address, or a relay address when you use Apple's Hide My Email)
  • User ID (Firebase Authentication)

2.2 Vehicle and maintenance information

  • Vehicle information (name, model code, year, mileage, etc.)
  • Maintenance records (date, details, cost, images, etc.)
  • Fuel and charging records
  • Modification history

2.3 Usage information

  • Access logs (IP address, browser information)
  • Usage data (feature usage frequency; collected via Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics)
  • Error and crash information (collected via Sentry)
  • Reports submitted on public pages (reason and details; can be sent without signing in)

2.4 Pre-release and waitlist information

  • Email address
  • Vehicle model and interest details you optionally provide

3. How We Use Information

  • Providing and operating the Service
  • User support
  • Improving the Service and developing new features
  • Sending pre-release notices and updates about new features such as the iOS app
  • Maintaining security and preventing misuse
  • Statistical analysis (anonymized data only)
  • Compliance with applicable laws

4. Sharing of Information

The Service does not provide your personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

  • When you have given consent
  • When you publish information yourself using the sharing features (share URLs, the “Community Garage,” etc.). Published vehicle information, records, and photos can be viewed by anyone, and you can stop sharing at any time.
  • When required by law
  • Provision to service providers as necessary to operate the Service (Firebase, Sentry, etc.)

5. Data Storage

User data is stored on Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage) operated by Google. Data is encrypted and managed under appropriate security measures.

6. Cookies and Tracking

The Service uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Maintaining your login state
  • Saving your settings
  • Access analytics (Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics, anonymized)
  • Measuring clicks on affiliate links (see section 7 below)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may be limited.

7. Affiliate Links

The Service may introduce third-party services such as vehicle inspection, auto insurance, and car buying services. These introductions may contain advertising (affiliate) links, and the Service may receive a referral fee when you sign up through them. Advertising links are labeled as such.

When you follow an advertising link, the Service records only aggregate click counts per offer. We do not send any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or vehicle details) to the destination provider.

Handling of personal information on the destination site is governed by that provider's own privacy policy. The Service is not responsible for the content of third-party services.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right of access: the right to review your data
  • Right to rectification: the right to correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure: the right to request deletion of your data
  • Right to export: the right to download your data

9. Data Deletion

When you delete your account, your personal information and all data are permanently deleted. However, data that is required to be retained by law, or anonymized statistical data, may be kept.

The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

The Service may revise this Privacy Policy as necessary. If there are material changes, we will notify you within the Service.
